NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

 

            NOTICE is hereby given that on Monday, June 14, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. the Kill Devil Hills Board of Commissioners will hold its first regular meeting of the month.  This live, in-person meeting will be held in the Meeting Room at the Administration Building, 102 Town Hall Drive, off Colington Road.

4.         Schedule Public Hearing

With the General Assembly’s legislative overhaul of county and municipal Planning and Development regulations, any amendments to the Land Use sections (Chapters 150, 152, and 153) of the Town Code require a public hearing being held for consideration.  Land Use amendments were scheduled for public hearing for June 14, 2021, at 6:00 p.m.   However, an error resulted in Chapter 150 not being included in the required public notice.  Board members previously approved the scheduling of a public hearing to correct this issue, and approval of the Consent Agenda will record the Board’s consensus and schedule the public hearing for Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at 6:00 p.m.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 

In 2019, the North Carolina General Assembly adopted a reorganization of the state’s Planning and Development regulation statutes.  To confirm this new statutory framework, the Town of Kill Devil Hills Town Code is required to be updated.

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Monday, June 14, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., the Kill Devil Hills Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing to receive public comment, both written and oral, on mandated text amendments to Title XV: Land Usage section of the Kill Devil Hills Town Code to comply with the requirements of N.C.G.S. 160D:

 

  1. Chapter 152. Subdivisions
  2. Chapter 153. Zoning

Written comments, which will be included with the record of the public hearing, may be submitted to the Town Clerk, P.O. Box 1719, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948, or by e-mail to: info@kdhnc.com. Comments must include your name and address and should be limited to three minutes when read aloud.  

At this public hearing, the Board of Commissioners may take action on the items, with such action to include approval, disapproval, or tabling the item for further consideration.
