2021 Spring Bulk Collection Reminder

The Town of Kill Devil Hills Public Services Department will begin collection of APPROVED bulk trash items generated from IMPROVED properties within the Town on Monday, April 19, 2021.  Approved items for collection should be placed in the street right-of-way no later than Sunday, April 18, 2021.

Non-approved materials, mixed piles, and items that are improperly sorted will not be collected!

In need of mulch for your garden? Visit the Town’s Dry Trash Drop Off and Recycle Center at 701 Bermuda Bay Boulevard, and help yourself to what you need, at no cost. 

Please note the hours of operation at the Center: 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday - Friday and 8:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Recently Adopted Proclamations

At its April 12th meeting, the Board of Commissioners adopted the following proclamations:

  • Child Abuse Prevention Month
  • Earth Day - April 22, 2021
Pinwheel display at town hall and fire dept. for Child Abuse Prevention month

The photos above show pinwheel displays located at the KDH Town Hall and the Fire Department. They are in observance of National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
The pinwheel signifies the bright future all children deserve and the belief that getting it right early is less costly than trying to fix it later.

Report concerns of child abuse by calling the Dare County Department of Health and Human Services at 252-475-5500, 8:30 - 5:30 p.m., M-F. In the event of an emergency dial 911.
