Recently Adopted Resolution

The Kill Devil Hills Board of Commissioners opposes any proposed increase in insurance premiums for state employees without an increase in each employee’s salary to offset the cost. Know Before You Go

Each day before you pack up to head to the beach, take a minute to check the daily beach condition reports on LoveTheBeachRespectTheOcean.com. When it comes to dangerous weather conditions, it is always important to know before you go. Check the daily weather forecast before you plan your day. In addition, please consider spending your beach day at a location where a lifeguard is present. View a list of lifeguard locations in KDH.

Current conditions are posted daily each morning on the homepage of this website. You can text OBXBEACHCONDITIONS to 77295 to have Dare County beach condition reports sent directly to your phone each day. It’s also a good idea to check in with the lifeguard when you arrive at the beach each day to learn about things such as rip currents or marine activity at your access.

Overnight Parking at Beach Accesses Prohibited Without Town Permit

The Kill Devil Hills Board of Commissioners is committed to ensuring that each beachgoer has a fair chance at a parking space without restricting KDH residents and property owners access at any time.

Overnight parking at KDH beach accesses is reserved for property owners with a valid permit, helping ensure these spaces aren’t used as overflow parking for vacation rentals and remain available for residents.

KDH has numerous beach accesses with amenities. For a full list: https://www.kdhnc.com/997/Beach
