Visit the first splash pad in Dare County! 

The splash pad at Meekins Field Park is available to all residents and visitors. It is open daily from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, from 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. (weather dependent).  Weather permitting, the Town will extend the operation of the Splash Pad beyond Labor Day weekend. Any closures, and the end of the 2023 season date, will be available on this page of the website.

Please note: The splash pad is subject to closure without notice due to any severe weather event, equipment malfunctions, health-related incidents, or other unforeseen matters as deemed appropriate by Town staff.

Operating the Splash Pad

To start the splash pad, press the RED activation button, wait a few seconds and the fun begins!  

The splash pad runs in operated time cycles of about 10 -12 minutes. 


Report Issues

Please report any maintenance concerns or vandalism: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., to the Town Hall at (252) 449-5300. After hours, call the Police Department's non-emergency dispatch at (252) 473-3444.


For any emergencies, dial 911.

Please refrain from drinking the splash pad water. Water fountains and a water bottle refill station are located near the bathrooms.
