The Town of Kill Devil Hills’ offices will be closed on Monday, May 27th in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. The Recycle Center and Dry Trash Drop Off Center will also be closed .  Normal residential and commercial refuse collections will be made Monday, May 27th - Friday, May 31st.  All Town offices, along with both centers, will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28th.

Follow these simple grilling safety tips to keep you and your loved out of harm's way.  •	Propane and charcoal grills should only be used outdoors and placed well away from the home, deck railings, and out from under eaves and overhanging branches.  •	Never leave your grill unattended. •	Keep children and pets at least 3’ away from the grill area. •	Keep your grill clean by removing grease or fat buildup from the grills and in trays below the grill. •	Dispose of coals after they cool in a metal can. •	If you choose to use lighter fluid, use only fluid intended for charcoal grills. Never add charcoal starter fluid to coals or kindling that has already been ignited.

Notice of Public Hearing on Recommended Budget

 On Monday, June 10, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. the KDH Board of Commissioners will hold a worksession and a public hearing to receive public comment, both written and oral, regarding the Town Manager's Recommended Budget for Fiscal Year 2024/2025.

The Town of Kill Devil Hills is hosting an event to support local animal shelters. Join us on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. at Mary’s Paws Park, 103 Veterans Drive. This is a FREE event and will include giveaways for dogs and owners, free ice cream treats, and educational information. Please consider bringing donations to help dogs in need.

Can't make it to the event, but still want to donate? Donations can be dropped off until Friday, May 31st at KDH Town Hall, 102 Town Hall Drive,  Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

KDH Facilities Update

The tennis and pickleball courts at Meekins Field Park recently got repaved and restriped. They are now open and ready for use! (There are two courts striped for pickleball.)

The hockey rink at Aviation Park is currently closed until further notice while it is getting resurfaced.

The Splash Pad at Meekins Field Park is anticipated to open tomorrow (5/25/24) for the Memorial Day weekend. The Splash Pad is typically open from 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. (weather dependent). Any closures will be posted on our website. In addition, more information on the Splash Pad can also be found on our website.
