All boards and committees welcome citizen input and involvement. Public comment periods are designated at each meeting, allowing citizens to provide their input, ask questions, or bring up matters not necessarily on the agenda. During a meeting, comments are limited to three minutes for individuals, and five minutes when speaking for a group.

Don’t be discouraged if the board does not immediately respond to your comments. Town staff may be directed to follow up with you concerns and the items may need to be discussed at a later date when more research and information has been gathered.

Comments may be made in the following ways:

  • In-Person – At a meeting, during public comment periods
  • Written - Written comments will be accepted via email and will be read aloud during the corresponding item of the meeting. Comments can be submitted anytime prior to the meeting as well as during the meeting up until the end of the corresponding item. Submit comments to: info@kdhnc.com

NC Severe Weather Preparedness Week

is March 5th - 11th, 2023

With warmer weather quickly approaching, now is the time to prepare for the severe weather season.  If each resident would take a few moments this week to learn about severe weather safety and implement a safety plan, then we would all be better off when severe thunderstorms and tornadoes inevitably strike and the likelihood of injury and fatalities caused by severe weather could be minimized.

While this week may be designated Severe Weather Preparedness Week, remember that preparedness is something we do all year long!
