Low Risk Is Not No Risk.

Did you know that just one inch of floodwater can cause up to $25,000 in damage?

Most homeowners insurance does not cover flood damage. Flood insurance is a separate policy that can cover buildings, the contents in a building, or both. Flood insurance is an important tool to protect your home and your investment.

Visit DareNC.com/Flood or www.kdhnc.com/135 for more information about flood insurance and the National Flood Insurance Program.

Each year, thousands of older Americans fall at home. Many of them are seriously injured, and some are disabled.

Falls are often due to hazards that are easy to overlook but easy to fix. This checklist will help you find and fix those hazards in your home.

Public Comment Solicited for System Development Fees Update

The Town of Kill Devil Hills has scheduled a Public Hearing on Monday, April 11, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. at the Town Hall Meeting Room to consider an update to its System Development Fees (SDFs), which replaced earlier “initial hook-up fees” or “impact fee” fee systems. As a part of this 45-day public review process, the Town is soliciting public input on the proposed SDFs.  Information on the proposed SDFs is available for review on the Town’s website at https://www.kdhnc.com/438/News, with copies available for personal inspection at KDH Town Hall, 102 Town Hall Drive; the Public Services Administration Building, 107 Town Hall Drive; or the Dare County Library – KDH Branch, 400 Mustian Street.

KDH citizens may provide written comments (include name and address) to the Town by one of the following methods:
