Join us Tomorrow for the Annual Trash Attack! Event

“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”    – Dr. Seuss

Join us tomorrow, April 1st, for the Town’s annual Trash Attack! community clean-up event. Let’s band together with friends and neighbors to make Kill Devil Hills a brighter and cleaner place.

Trash Attack! will take place from 9:00–12:00 p.m., at Aviation Park, 103 Veterans Drive (across from First Flight High School). The event will kick-off at Aviation Park, participants will pick up their gloves and grabbers and head out across Town to "attack" the trash. Beach, soundside, or anywhere in between!

You can help change the world for the better by taking small actions locally.

The Fourth Street Beach Access is still closed and will remain closed until further notice. We recognize the community’s desire to use the Fourth Street Access; however, the Town’s top priority is the safety of our citizens. The walkover portion of the access has been deemed unsafe by Town staff. Damage to the access is a result of years of repeated storm damage. Improvements to the access will remain ongoing. The Town is waiting on the availability of utility locators to inspect the area before the wooden walkover portion of the access can be removed entirely, allowing for the Town to provide safe access to the beach to the public. The access will be an open sand access for the near future as the Town seeks grant funding for replacement. Kill Devil Hills has many public beach accesses that offer a variety of amenities. For a list, visit our website, www.kdhnc.com/997/Beach At this time, it is undetermined when the repairs will be completed. The Town will continue to provide any updates. Your understanding and patience are appreciated.
