If you have been following along with our Government 101 series, we last shared information on how citizens can participate in public meetings. Take it one step further and apply to serve on one of our Boards or Committees!
The Town of Kill Devil Hills has various Boards and Committees which typically serve as advisory panels to the Board of Commissioners. Board and Committee members are appointed by the Board of Commissioners and serve in a volunteer capacity. These Committees are an opportunity for residents of the Town to become directly involved in their local government and help shape the future of the Town of Kill Devil Hills.
Serving on a Board or Committee is just another way to let your voice be heard. By volunteering a little bit of your time, you’ll be playing an active role in the decision-making process which affects you and your community.
Visit our website for information on meeting dates, times, and locations, as well as to complete an application to serve YOUR community.
The Town is always accepting applications for appointments to its Boards and Committees. There is currently a vacancy on the Community Appearance Commission and the Street Improvement and Special Project Committee.
