PLANNED TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

The Town of Kill Devil Hills will have a temporary road closure beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, February 24, 2023, for the south end of Norfolk Street at its intersection with W. Durham Street, for utility and roadway improvements by Fred Smith Company.

Through traffic on Norfolk Street will be prohibited during this work. Local traffic may use Newport News Street to Suffolk Street to detour around the closure.

Norfolk Street will remain open from the north for access to adjacent properties. The temporary road closure is scheduled to end by 4:30 p.m.

Reminder: Colington Island is an unincorporated area in Dare County; therefore, refuse collection for all of Colington Island is conducted by Dare County. Questions regarding sanitation collection for unincorporated areas of Dare County should be addressed to the County’s Public Works Department at 252-475-5880.
