From Tuesday, October 18, 2022 to Thursday, October 20, 2022 Beach Driving will be closed from Lake Drive to 8th Street in Kill Devil Hills to allow NCDOT to make necessary repairs to the outfall pipe in this area. Thank you for your patience while the necessary repairs are being made.

2022 Fall Bulk Collection ScheduleThe Town of Kill Devil Hills Public Services Department will begin collection of APPROVED bulk trash items from IMPROVED properties within the Town of Kill Devil Hills on Monday, October 17, 2022 APPROVED items for collection may be placed in the Street right-of way not earlier than Sunday, October 2, 2022 and not later than Sunday, October 16, 2022.

Voting InformationThe early voting period for the 2022 general election is Monday through Friday, October 20, 2022 – November 4, 2022 (8:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.) and Saturday, November 5, 2022 – (8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.). Registered voters or eligible individuals in North Carolina may cast an absentee ballot in person during this time. During early voting, voters may cast a ballot at any early voting site in their county, and would-be voters may same-day register and vote. Beach driving permits can now be purchased at: - KDH TOWN HALL (card or cash, seasonal or temporary permits), 102 Town Hall Drive, second floor at Finance Department, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- STOP N SHOP (cash only, seasonal permits only),100 S Virginia Dare Trail, Sunday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
A few things to note: • KDH seasonal permits are $25 and KDH temporary permits are $10 (good for 14 days). • KDH beach driving permits are ONLY good for the Town of Kill Devil Hills beach. • The speed limit is 15 mph. • Air down your tires! • Storms and high tides can cause rough beach conditions and may limit driving room. During high tides, portions of the beach are likely to become impassible. Obey all closure signs and notices. Check the Town’s website and social media pages regularly for any possible closures.
