Kill Devil Hills Beach Driving season delayed due to Hurricane Ian

BEACH DRIVING SEASON DELAYED DUE TO IAN

With winds and high surf making our beach too dangerous for beach driving we are delaying the Saturday, October 1, 2022, opening of beach driving season. Even though the winds and surf may subside this Saturday, similar conditions will return on Sunday and are expected to last through Wednesday. We will monitor the conditions and will re-open the beach to driving when conditions improve.

Town of Kill Devil Hills Fall Bulk Trash Collection Schedule

Please place approved bulk trash items in four separate bundles. Non-approved materials, mixed piles, and items that are improperly sorted will not be collected!

NCDOT US-158 Pipe Replacement

Beginning Tuesday, October 4, 2022, NCDOT will be working on replacing a pipe on US-158 between East Third Street and East Second Street, just north of the Kill Devil Hills Fire Department. Barricades will be placed south of East Third Street and north of West First Street, closing the road to traffic. First phase of construction is proposed to finish on Tuesday, October 4th, with only the right southbound turn lane into the Dare Centre closed during the day. The second phase and road closure of both lanes of traffic on US-158, will begin the following Wednesday and Thursday night from 7:00pm to 7:00am. All lanes will be open to traffic during the day from 7:00am to 7:00pm. Schedule is subject to change depending on the weather.

Kill Devil Hills Fire Department 2022 Open House October 11

The Town of Kill Devil Hills and its Fire Department invite the public to join them at Fire Station Number 14 (1634 North Croatan Highway, Kill Devil Hills, NC) from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM to tour the Fire Station, meet members of the team and check out their equipment, as well as participate in fun activities for all ages!
