New & Improved Website

The Town of Kill Devil Hills is excited to announce the launch of its updated website!

It was re-designed with you in mind. The updated features provide users with a cleaner and easier-to-navigate layout, improved navigation and search functionalities, and easier ways to conduct business with us, such as online bill pay, easy-to-submit forms, and a variety of other resources.

The website also features a mobile-optimized design that ensures people can easily navigate and interact with content through any desktop, smartphone, or tablet, anytime and anywhere.

The new website will allow the Town to increase its community engagement and enhance the communication between residents and the local governments.

The KDH Fire Dept received a grant to replace outdated and unrepairable radio communications equipment.

KDH Fire Department Replaces Critical Communication Technologies with Awarded Grant Funds

The Kill Devil Hills Fire Department (KDHFD) was awarded a $229,409 grant through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Assistance to Firefighters Grants Program. This grant has allowed the KDHFD to replace outdated and unrepairable radio communications equipment. This enhancement will have a profound effect on the increased safety of the KDHFD and our citizens for years to come.

Shop, Eat, and Support Local

Visit over 60 vendors and grab something to eat from the food trucks at the First Flight Market on 7/26.

This is a family-friendly event located at the Town's Aviation Park. Bring everyone with you on "market day," even the four legged members! (We have vendors with goodies for the doggos.) Not only can you shop and eat at the market, but our dog park, skatepark, hockey rink, fitness trail, and playground are still open!


Of note: The 2022 First Flight Market is held every Tuesday through August 9th. No two markets are the same!

Save the Date for National Night Out

The Town of Kill Devil Hills, with its Police and Fire Departments, will hold its 11th annual National Night Out event on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Lowe’s parking lot, 1500 North Croatan Highway.
Come out and join our first responders and other community members for a family-fun time!

 There will be numerous kids’ activities and free food/drinks, as well as:

  • Outer Banks Hospital – Blood pressure checks

  • OBX SPCA $5 Rabies Clinic
