First Flight Market

The Town of Kill Devil Hills is proud to present you with the opportunity to shop local and support small businesses at the First Flight Markets. With over 65 vendors planning to participate (and different ones at each market) – including food trucks - and a wide variety of goods from sweet & savory treats, woodworking, photography, paintings, jewelry, candles, bath and body items and so much more - you’re sure to find tons of one-of-a kind items for yourself and others!

The markets will be located at Aviation Park, 103 Veterans Drive. Parking is available at the park and overflow parking is available at the First Flight High School.

The First Flight Markets are held each Tuesday from June 21 through August 9 from 10 am – 2 pm.

First Flight Market on June 21 from 10 am - 2 pm
Come kick-off the first day of summer at the First Flight Market on Tuesday, June 21st!
We have an AMAZING lineup of about 60 vendors, plus a food truck, who all have incredible homegrown, homebaked, and handmade products to offer. Come out and support their small businesses.

In celebration of the first market for 2022, we’ll be GIVING AWAY summer swag bags to the first hundred or so customers who come by (supplies are limited).

Beat the Heat!

Heat and humidity create dangerous conditions. Take precautions and adjust outdoor plans as necessary.
  • Stay hydrated.
  • Wear light clothing.
  • Take breaks under the shade or by the AC.
  • Avoid high-energy activities outdoors during midday heat.
Reminders:
It is NEVER safe to leave a child, disabled or elderly person or a pet locked in a car (even in the winter.) When left in a hot car, people and animals can die of heatstroke within a matter of minutes. Leaving the windows slightly open DOES NOT decrease the heating rate enough.

If it’s too hot for you to walk barefoot on the asphalt or sand, it’s too hot for your dog! Try to keep them in grassy areas when out for walks.

Leave Nothing but Footprints. . . We have the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful and clean beach. Please remove all trash and personal items from the beach each day. In Kill Devil Hills, leaving items on the beach overnight is prohibited. Trash and other items left on the beach can be harmful to people, including emergency responders, and wildlife, like hatchling sea turtles that must make their way to the water to survive. And, don’t forget to fill in all sand holes, which also create extreme hazards for others when left unattended. We want all people and wildlife to be able to continue enjoying a safe and litter-free beach!
