PLANNED TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
Intersection of East New Bern Street and Fifth Street to Virginia Dare Trail

The Town of Kill Devil Hills will have periodic road closures tomorrow, June 10, 2022, from the intersection of East New Bern Street and Fifth Street to Virginia Dare Trail for Weeks Construction to move beach nourishment equipment and construction material to and from the staging area at the Fifth Street Beach Access. This section of road will be closed several times throughout the day, as needed, to move the large equipment and other material. The portion of road is scheduled to re-open by the end of the day on June 10th. Please follow any detour instructions from flaggers.
In addition, as large trucks are backing into the Fifth Street Beach Access to unload material, traffic be temporarily stopped in this area of Virginia Dare Trail. The delay should last no more than several minutes at a time. There will be no closures along Virginia Dare Trail.
Just a reminder, the Fifth Street Beach Access is closed and will remain closed during the construction of the southern portion of the project. At this time, there is no set date of the access re-opening.
