On Monday, September 13, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., the Kill Devil Hills Board of Commissioners will hold a meeting in the Meeting Room at the Administration Building, 102 Town Hall Drive, off Colington Road. View meeting agenda

It’s a great time to prepare your garden for the fall!

Take advantage of the FREE mulch the town offers. It’s available at our Dry Trash Drop Off and Recycle Center (DTDC) and at Aviation Park. Please help yourself to what you need.

The DTDC is located at 701 Bermuda Bay Boulevard. The hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday - Friday and 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Saturday.

Aviation Park is located at 103 Veterans Drive. Stop by anytime!

Hurricane Preparedness

Prepare to protect yourself and your loved ones this hurricane season. Start by making a plan before disasters and emergencies strike. 

Discuss with your household or family how you will communicate if there is an emergency.

Decide and practice your emergency plan with members of your household.

Involve your entire family, including your children, in planning for disasters and emergencies so they are prepared, not afraid.

Beach Safety

Please note: With schools starting, Kill Devil Hills Ocean Rescue lost a large number of its staff. As a result, numerous lifeguard stands have been/will be removed from the beach.
 
As permitted, lifeguards will remain stationed at the following accesses on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through the end of September 2021:

 
Five roving vehicles will also patrol the beach. However, if you do not see a lifeguard present and have an emergency dial 911.
