Board of Commissioners Meeting
On Monday, November 9, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. the Kill Devil Hills Board of Commissioners will hold its only regular meeting of the month in the Meeting Room at the Administration Building, 102 Town Hall Drive, off Colington Road. In order to maintain the safety of Town residents, Staff, and Board of Commissioners, social distancing guidelines must be followed. View meeting agenda

Staff Stays Busy Making Improvements Around Town

Now that the Town’s bulk trash pickup has concluded and the once-per-week residential refuse collections have begun, the Street and Solid Waste Divisions are beginning work on some of their off-season projects. Yesterday under the combined effort of both divisions, the crews successful replaced an undersized and deteriorated steel culvert with a new 42” HDPe culvert in the 900 block of the S. Memorial Blvd. ditch. The new pipe will help with some of the drainage problems in the S. Memorial area.

In the picture below is the new 42” pipe set to grade prior to backfilling.

Beach Cleanup Events in KDH

Join the KDH Community Appearance Commission for a beach cleanup event. The first cleanup event will take place on Saturday, November 14th, from 9:00 - noon at the Ocean Bay Blvd. Beach access. The second cleanup event will occur on Saturday, November 28th, from 9:00 - noon at the Hayman Blvd. beach access. All cleanup supplies will be provided.

Public Notice of Found and Unclaimed Property Disposition

Pursuant to the provisions of North Carolina General Statutes 15-12 through 15-16 this notice of unclaimed property and notice of sale is published to advise any person or persons who may have or claim to have any interest in the property listed below that they must report that claim to the Kill Devil Hills Police Department within thirty (30) days from Wednesday, October 14, 2020, which is the date of first publication of this advertisement.  The property may be viewed for thirty (30) days beginning Thursday, October 15, 2020, through Friday, November 13, 2020, at the Kill Devil Hills Police Department Impound Building, located inside the KDH Public Works Complex at 701 Bermuda Bay Blvd., off Colington Road, by contacting Sgt. Mike Sudduth at 252-449-5337 from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

At the conclusions of the required advertising period, all remaining unclaimed and found property will be sold by the Town on www.GovDeals.com.

Hydrant Flushing is Underway

The Kill Devil Hills Public Services Department began conducting its fire hydrant flushing program on Monday, November 2nd. It is anticipated to last until Friday, November 20th.

Customers may experience a momentary loss of water pressure or temporary water discoloration and should check color of water prior to washing clothing. To find out if flushing is occurring in a specific area of Town, please call the Kill Devil Hills Public Services Department at (252) 480-4080.
