Potential Severe Weather Event - Briefing from NWS

The National Weather Service of Newport/Morehead City, NC (NWS) continues to monitor the potential for severe weather to affect the Outer Banks, beginning this afternoon and lasting through the evening, as Tropical Storm Zeta passes near our area. The NWS expects our area to experience coastal flooding, damaging winds, dangerous surf conditions, and there is a possibility of isolated tornadoes.
 
A wind and coastal flood advisory are currently in effect for our area. Please be sure to secure all refuse containers on your property upon service and tie down or bring inside any unsecured lawn items.
