Board of Commissioners Meeting:
In order to maintain the safety of Town residents, Staff, and board members, the Kill Devil Hills Board of Commissioners will conduct an electronic meeting on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at 6:00 p.m., using Zoom software. There are several methods the public can participate in or view the meeting.

COVID-19 Bulletin #46 from Dare County Emergency Management

Plan for Gradual Lifting of Restrictions on Entry to Dare County To Be Announced Tuesday, April 21
With careful consideration of the science, trends, data and resource availability, the Dare County Control Group has asked staff to prepare a plan to address the lifting of restrictions on entry to Dare County while ensuring the safety of our community. Dare County’s plan will be released on Tuesday, April 21, 2020.

State Cases of COVID-19
In North Carolina, there are currently 6,764 cases of COVID-19 in 93 counties. There have been 179 fatalities in NC associated with COVID-19. Currently, the state is reporting 373 hospitalizations across the state from COVID-19 illness.

County’s Positive Test Results Remains at 15
The number of positive COVID-19 test results remains at 15. Fourteen have recovered/or are asymptomatically cleared (meaning they are seven days post testing with no symptoms) and one died.

Even though the Dare County Libraries are temporarily closed, they have provided a variety of eBook resources, which allows you to access reading material from the comfort of your own home (with your Dare County Library card).

Their regular collection consists of over 2,900 eBooks. However, during this closure, the collection is supplemented by thousands of additional titles on a Pay Per View model (and the library is paying, not you!).

Accessing the eBook collections is free and is easy. If you have a Dare County Library card and a PIN (Personal Identification Number) you are all set. Don’t have a PIN or remember your PIN? Call the library during weekday hours and they will assist you.

Dare Counts - Census 2020

The 2020 Census will count everyone living Dare County.

A complete and accurate count is vital for the entire community. The Census is conducted just once every ten years as required by the United States Constitution. The basic data it collects helps to shape the future for you, your family, and your neighbors. It informs the allocation of funding for the community as well as determines the number of seats each state gets in Congress. Every person (both citizens and non-citizens) living in Dare County at the time of the Census must complete the survey.

Everyone is affected by this count. If you drive on a road, cross a bridge, have children in school, go to the doctor's office or hospital, require special assistance from federally funded programs, or use any other public service, join us and make the pledge to participate in the 2020 Census.
