NC 12 Reopens Following Gas Leak Repairs

Barriers have been removed and N.C. 12 in Kill Devil Hills has been reopened to regular traffic on Wednesday following a natural gas leak.  The section of roadway from Tanya Drive to First Street had been closed on Tuesday as a safety precaution.  Piedmont Natural Gas crews have repaired the lines, and plan to bury a deeper line in the future, though no time frame has been set.  When that work is completed, it is not expected to require a road closure; flag crews will be utilized.
