The Town of Kill Devil Hills is accepting applications for the following position: SANITATION TEAM LEADER
This position leads a team of equipment operators engaged in solid waste management collection and disposal for commercial and residential customers; performs equipment operation in the collection and disposal of commercial waste in the Solid Waste Management Division. Delivers dumpsters; inspects dumpster sites for proper concrete pad, visual screen, condition of container and lid. Maintains computerized spreadsheet up to date of customer locations, number of collections needed per week, and number of dumpsters. Work requires skill in the operation of various types of heavy equipment in tight spaces and considerable knowledge of the Town’s street system. Candidates must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly. Will assist with general sanitation/labor duties on a daily basis as needed. High school diploma and considerable experience in the operation of motorized vehicles and in solid waste collections and disposal work is desired. Possession of a valid N.C. class B commercial driver’s license is required. Minimum starting pay: $40,900 with an excellent benefits package.
