The Town of Kill Devil Hills operates a Dry Trash Drop-Off (DTDO) Center located at 701 Bermuda Bay Boulevard for the disposal of bulk items such as furniture, non-recyclable glass, construction & demolition waste, masonry, and yard waste.
Beginning Monday, May 3, 2021 Hours of operations will be:
Monday thru Friday8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
The Dry Trash Drop-Off Center is provided to owners and residents of improved properties within the corporate limits of the Town. It is located next to the Recycle Center and is only accessible to customers who have obtained a DTDO permit.

Obtaining a Dry Trash Drop-Off (DTDO) Center Permit
DTDO permits are issued free of charge to owners and residents of improved properties within the corporate limits of the Town. To obtain a permit, please visit the Public Services Department located at 107 Town Hall Drive, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. til 5:00 p.m. When applying for a permit, you will be asked to supply two forms of identification, your name, address, license plate number, and a description of the vehicle to which the decal will be affixed. Decals must be affixed to the vehicle, they cannot be kept inside the vehicle glove compartment, for example, and be used to enter the center. The decal is designed to be adhered to the inside of the windshield of the driver's side lower corner. Please make sure it is at least one inch from any other sticker and that the number is upright and visible from the outside.
