Criminal Investigations Division

The Criminal Investigations Division is staffed by sworn police officers tasked with investigating felony crimes that occur in our Town.

Personnel that are assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division are educated and trained in various fields of law enforcement and the investigations of crimes. Such crimes include violent assaults, narcotic related offenses, financial fraud, substantial larcenies, residential and commercial burglaries, and other felonious activity.

Once the report of a felony is filed with an Officer in the Uniformed Patrol Division, a Detective is assigned to the case. The assigned Detective is responsible for speaking with victims, suspects, and witnesses. They also collect evidence, develop intelligence files, and conduct physical surveillance of target areas and persons of interest. Members of this division apply and execute search warrants and other special operations required to successfully apprehend criminals and evidence.
