Stakeholder Group on Height Regulations

 

This committee is comprised of a diverse group representative of a variety of property types, property locations, occupations, viewpoints (including those in favor/opposed to proposals on increasing building height regulations along the Town’s oceanfront and between the two main highways – NC 12 (Virginia Dare Trail) and US 158 (Croatan Highway) and environmental opinions.  Issues that may be considered include but are not limited to: commercial or residential property categories, overall footprint/impact of building(s); public access to the beach; beach populations; social and economic impacts, and provision services in Kill Devil Hills; comparisons to other communities; and portion of Kill Devil Hills tax base close to the ocean and risk of property loss.
