Community Rating System - The CommunityRating System (CRS) supports the goals of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).  This is accomplished by providing premium rate reductions to policy holders whose community implements activities thta work toward the three goals of reducing flood damage, supporting the insurance part of the NFIP, and pursuing a broad approach to floodplain management.  The Town's commitment to responsible floodplain management recently increased our rating to a Class 6, previously a Class 7, in the NFIP CRS.  This Class 6 rating entitles standard rated flood insurance policy holders in the X-Zone to a ten percent discount and those in Special Hazard Areas (Zones A, AE or VE) to a 20 percent discount.
