Recycle Yard, Recycling and Recycled Materials



An attended 

Recycle Center

 is located at 701 Bermuda Bay Boulevard (off Colington Road).  Sorted recyclable materials are accepted: 

Monday thru Friday  8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. 
Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. 

Hours are subject to change during holidays.  We encourage and welcome everyone at this facility.  No decal is required for use of the Recycle Yard.

Recycle Center and Dry Trash Drop-Off Services & Guidelines

Please follow these instructions and those of the site attendants.  Please take the time to separate and prepare these materials as directed and place them into the recycling containers.  Thanks!   

Plastics:

 #1, #2, and #3 - #7 - Bottles and jugs including soda, milk, juice, water, detergent, shampoo, etc.  Look for numbers 1, 2, and 3-7 on the bottom of the container.  

Preparation:

 remove lids, rinse, and flatten.  No tubs, wide mount jars, plates, cups, Styrofoam, or motor oil bottles. 

Mixed Paper:

 Newspaper, office paper, mail, paperboard (shoeboxes, cereal boxes) magazines, catalogs, phone books, paper bags.  

Preparation:

 place in paper bags and put into paper bin.  No plastic bags, paper contaminated with food or dirt, wet paper, pizza boxes.  

Aluminum Beverage Cans:

 Drink cans only.  Crushing is optional. 

Steel Cans:

 Rinse, label may stay. 

Glass:

 Green, clear, and brown bottles and jars.  Porcelain, ceramic cups, plates, mirrors, window glass, crystal, ovenware and light bulbs.  

Preparation:

 
rinse and remove lids from bottles.  No need to so rt colors or remove cap from light bulbs.  Think safety when disposing of glass.  Do not break.  Safety glasses and gloves are recommended. 

Cardboard:

 Corrugated cardboard only.  Preparation:  keep dry, remove packing materials and flatten.  No waxed, dirty or wet boxes.  

Electronics:

 All electronic devices and computer monitors.  (TVs are not recycled at this time, but may be placed in a bulk item container at the Dry Trash Drop Off Yard, with a decal/permit.)

Oyster Shells:

 Place in the  yellow oyster can.
